GOOD TEMPLARY

The Star of the South Juvenile Temple held their annual concert on Tuesday last, when there was a fair attendance of juveniles and friends. Bro. J. Hilton, S.J.W., occupied the position of chairman, and in a few well-chosen words opened the concert by calling on' tiffi juvenile choir 10 give their item. A large and varied programme was gone through, consisting of pianoforte selections, dialogues, recitations, and songs, and, judging by the applause, were highly appreciated. During the programme, and at a suitable interval, the Rev. Guy Thornton gave a short address on “The British Empire,” tracing its growth—first the missionary, and then the flag, which always stayed there, and brought civilisation with it. Numerous instances were quoted in. support of this—notably in South Africa. It was altogether a very helpful address, especially to the juveniles. The proceedings closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
