Y.W.C.A. PICNIC
On Saturday afternoon a harbour trip was arranged by Iho Y.W.C.A. in conjunction with tho Peninsula Ferry _ Company. and proved to bo a very enjoyable outing. About, 200 people took advantage of this opportunity of an excursion to the Heads. But for tho inclement weather a much larger number of the members and friends of tho association would undoubtedly have attended to assist, tho object for which the piunio was organised. This was the raising of a sum of money to send a delegation to tho Y.WVO.A. Girls’ Conference to be held near Wellington during the Easter holidays. Though the excursion failed in that respect, it was highly successful in its immediate object of entertaining those who took part in it.. On arrival at tho Spit tho visitors took a short walk inland and cam pod for afternoon tea. By prearrangement boiling water was ready for the excursionists on arrival so that there was no delay in the serving of tea. A bent 5.30 p.m. visitors rc-end vti'kod, and the weather, having by tins time cleared somewhat, they had tho full benefit of the beautiful trio back to Dunedin in the early evening.
