FORESTERS
Although the last meeting of Court Pride of tho Leith, held on Wednesday evening, opened at tho early hour of 7 o’clock, there was a very fino gathering of members prosent with the C.R. Bro. H. Coeter in charge. The enthusiasm and! enorgy of the members still maintains a high standard. A considerable amount of routine business was disposed of, and one new member admitted and five others nominated. Tho D.S.C.R. Bro. W. Wright, along with the District Secretary attended, and were received officially. The toast of the. district officers was responded to by tho officers present. After the close of the ordinary mooting the chair was taken by the D.S.C.R. Bro. Wright, when the Past Presidents’ honours’ board for the Otago Friendly Societies’ Council was presented to the court by P.D.C.R. Bro. JHope, on behalf of the council. The speaker apologised for the absence, of the Council Secretary and other members, and said it was a pleasure to present the court with the board, as it bore the name of their Secretary, Bro. J. K. Maofie, as the immediate past president of the council, the first member of the order to receive that honour. The District Secretary thanked the members of tho council for their appreciation of his sendees as president, and esteemed it to be a greater honour to his court and the district, than to himself, to he enrolled as a president of the F.S. Council. During the evening harmony was contributed by Bros. C. Hawes, C. C. Robertson, H. Bennett, T. M‘Natty, G. H. Stables, J. P. Burrows, G. B. Oliphant, P. Holdaway, and J. Benfell, and a visitor, Mr Campion, also contributed items. After partaking of supper a very fine meeting terminated.
