ST. KILDA WATER SUPPLY

TO THB EDITOR. Sir,—lt Ims often been said that there is no time like the present, and in connection with this matter of water supply I shall simply state the position as it is today For some few weeks past quite a number of houses in the vicinity of where I live have been practically empty, the major portion of the residents being on holiday. When I went homo between 12 and 1 o’clock fo-dny, naturally, or unnaturally, T had a desire to wash my hands but on going to the tap to carry out this open lion I found it was impossible for the simple reason there was no water. I have been charged the sum of £5 7s 6d this year for water, and T strongly object to being asked to pay for something which I do not receive.—[ cm, etc., U. C. Campbell. Dunedin, January 22.
