THE REGENT STREET TRAGEDY. Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright LONDON, January 12. The Daily 31a.il states that the woman Mjddleton was murdered. The police surgeon’s examination revealed three bullet holes in her neck which she could ijot have inflicted herself. There were serious quarrels between Mrs Middleton and Maltby, who both lost money in horse racing. Maltby reached the rank of captain during the war.—A. and N.Z. Cable. (Received Jan, 14, at 5.5 p.m.) The Dailv Express states that the police found a Winchester rifle with which ilaltby jhurdered Mrs Middleton, doubtless owing to jealousy, as letters show that Maltby was suspicious that another man had supplanted him. There were three wounds in the woman’s neck. She was apparently murdered in bed. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
