The condition of the Government is becoming precarious, due to lack of funds. The situation is aggravated by the American Chamber of Commerce cabling President Harding, recommending delay in the remission of the United States share of the Boxer indemnity until China makes satisfactory arrangements concerning her overdue indebtedness to American financial interests, and gives assurances that the Boxer fund* will not be, used for military purposes.—* A. and N.Z.
