PRINCESS THEATRE
The public is evidently alive to the fact that with a material strengthening by the introduction of four new turns the performance at the Princess Theatre is one worthy of a closer acquaintance, and consequently the houses at present are such as gladden the artists and are quite satisfactory from a pecuniary point of view.' One of the mainstays of the two and a-half hours’ performance is Mr Lawrence, a very clover artist, who gives of his best. It is a clever musical turn that Mr Lawrence provides, and in it he is exceedingly amusing. Potter and Hartwell are quite entertaining, and in Lola Stantonno patrons listen to a good violinist. Slavin and Thompson are patter artists of the best class, and those mentioned are supported by a number of clover artists who have not yet worn out their welcome. In this connection may be mentioned Beresford and Kennie, Bloy, the banjoist, and several others.
