WAITAHUNA SHOW CONCERT

The concert held at Waitahuna on show night was a decided success, despite tho heavy rain during the early part of the evening. The hall was well filled, and an excellent programme was provided. The first half of the programme consisted of vocal and instrumental items, contributed by the following:—Misses C. and H. Crane, piano duet; Miss Woods (Lawrence), song: Miss Winnie Roughon (Lawrence), song ; Mr R. M’Xamara (Greenfield), song: Miss Jean M’Corkindale. song: Mr D. C." Rose, recitation._ The concluding part was a farce, entitled “Leave It To Me,” the various parts being taken by tho following:—Mr Easy. Mr D. C. Rose: Adolphus Courtly. Mr Alexander Donaldson; Susan Muggins, Mr D. Murdoch; Amelia. Mr Met Donaldson; Joseph Sprouts, Mr E. S. Blair; Mr Quince. Mr R Murray. This item met with unstinted applause, tho character portrayal of Susan Muggins and Joey Sprouts was especially entertaining, and provoked no end of merriment, while the other leading characters ■(ve.re excellently sustained. Tho audience expressed its appreciation in no uncertain fashion, and tho outburst of appinuso winch greeted the love scene between ■Susan Muggins and the versatile Jooy Sprouts was in itself convincing proof of the popularity of the farce. The club are indebted to the performors for their generous assistance at thoir annual concert.
