RELIGIOUS STATICTICS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, November 25. The official table of the growth of various religions in New South Wales during the 10 years 1911-21 shows an increase for the Christian sects of 448,868, of which the Church of England is credited with 293,301 and the Roman Catholics with 107,184. Non-Christian sects increased by 1849. BARRIER MINING AFFAIRS. SYDNEY, November 25. Advices from Broken Hill state that there is a merger movement among the Barrier mining companies for purely Australian interests to take over the whole of the assets and liabilities of the British Company at 55s a share. CIVIL SERVANTS’ SALARIES. ~ HOBART, November 25. In the Assembly the Premier, debating the second reading of the Public Expenditure Adjustment Bill, said the Government considered it fair to ask civil servants to forgo six per cent, of their salaries in order to square the State balance sheet. The cost of living had fallen more than six per cent, since civil servants got their last rise. He added that Queensland and New Zealand had already imposed reductions. THE YEA MURDER.' ' MELBOURNE, November 25. At the third trial of Reuben Fox for the Yea murder a verdict of not guiltv was returned. Two previous juries had disagreed.—>A. and N.Z. Cable. [Fox was charged with murdering Mrs M’Laughlin at Yea, 80 miles from Melbourne. Both attended a dance on the night of the tragedy (July 23). Hailstorms in some districts in NewSouth Wales caused considerable damage to the wheat crops. The hailstones near Glen Times were so large that they smashed windows wholesale and penetrated tin roofs. SYDNEY, November 25.
