A BATHING FATALITY. (Pee United Press Association.) WANGANUI, November 25. A young married man named Porciyal Thompson, who resided at Loner Acre, was drowned in the Wanganui River white swimming on Saturday morning. The body ha-s not been recovered. , WAIROA, November 25. Thomas O’Reilly, a married man with a largo family, while working in a quarry, was caught "by a fall of earth, and sustained injuries which necessitated his removal to the hospital, where he had a leg amputated. CHILD'S TRAGIC DEATH. AUCKLAND. November 26. A child, five months old, died yesterday afternoon in peculiar circumstances. It was placed in a perambulator in the shade, and about an hour later was found dead by the mother. The child had vomited milk, which entered the trachea, causing suffocation. The child was the sou of Noel Colo, of Curran street, Ponsonby. A married'‘man named Francis Dickie, 45 years- of age. who resides at 42 Eskvale street, Musselburgh, was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital on Saturday, suffering from a fracture of the right log. sustained through slipping off' (he verandah of his residence. James Diehl, aged 17 years, residing at James street, Green Island, was admitted to Dunedin Hospital last night, suffering from, a gunshot wound in the right foot, caused through his companion’s rifle being discharged accidentally.
