DUNEDIN CHORAL SOCIETY

Soloist, chorus and orchestra held a combined practice on Saturday night. Stanford’s "Revenge” has no solo part. Mendelssohn’s “Loreley” includes a soprano solo, which was taken by Mrs Astlev Black. In the conclusion, Mrs Black’s powerful voice came through the accompaniment, of chorus and orchestra. The orchestra did full justice to the “Othello” overture It is not possible to anticipate which the audience will prefer. Undoubtedly they will enjov all. The box plan fo rsubsoribers opens at The Bristol this morning.
