FORESTERS

The usual fortnightly meeting of Court Pride of the Leith, held on Wednesday evening, under tho direction of the C.R., Bro. B. B. Johnston, was well attended. A considerable amount of business was disposed of in tho interests of th o court. Unoo again the pleasant function of “community singing” took place, with Bro. J. F. Burrows as the loader, assisted by the secretary at the piano. This break in tho business of tho meetings is now looked forward to by tho members, and is proving very succossiul, all present entering very heartily into the singing. A feature of the evening was a debate, “Bnun v. Muscle,” the leaders being P.D.C.B.’s Bros. W R. Brugh and W. B. Anderson. The debate" was keenly contested by a large number of members, and proved both interesting instructive, and amusing. The toast of’the visitors was responded to by Bro Ross Hughes, of Court Star of the Forest Bro. F. Boylen. Court Pride of Oamaru, and P.O.R. Bro. C. W. Patton, on behalf of Court Star of the South. The last-named speaker specially congratulated th° court on the splendid progress it was making, and with the inanno’r the working of the court was carried out. During the evening two new members wore admitted, and two nominations were received.
