ORPHANS' CLUB

The orphans gathered in strong force last night to ehjoy their fortnightly meed of mirth and music and gonial social companionship. Tim president, Bro. G. W. MTntosh, occupied the chair, and contributed some humorous stories to the enjoyment of tho evening. Songs were rendered with excellent effect by Bros. J. R. Cameron, C. Reid, W. Wilson. C. F. Carter. J. M. Smeaton, and A. Sligo, and a humorous song was given by Bro. J. A. Haggitt. who _ was also in charge of community singing, an item that was entered into with great vigour and heartiness. Mr M. Faigan contributed a clarionet. solo, Messrs C. C. Scott and S. G. Angell a vocal duet, Messrs Stewart and Levi a flute duet, and Messrs C H. Russell and W. J. Hutton recitations. With such a programme, it is needless to say that the evening proved a most successful and happy one for all taking part.
