ROUND THE WORLD

MAJOR BLAKE’S FLIGHT. GOOD PROGRESS MADE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON. June 26. Received June 27, at 11.45 p.m.) Major Blake telegraphs from Brindisi as follows:—“Arrived here from Naples, travelling via Foggia in order to avoid the mountains as far as possible. On the way we encircled Vesuvius, flying through dense clouds of sulphurous smoke, which nearly choked us. We badly bumped when flying over the crater, at the time rising and falling 500 or 600 feet. We crossed the Apennines at a height of 10,000 feet. The machine is flying well. We are all fit and glad to be moving at last.”—A. and N.Z. Cable.
