The Assembly adopted a resolution providing for a dumping duty to bring the price of imported goods to the level of local production in cases where the sale of the imported article is likely to affect any industry in the Union. The Minister of finance explained that the reason for the measure was the alleged under-cutting of the South African Rubber Company by the American suppliers for the purpose of capturing the market.—A. and N.Z.
