CHICAGO LABOUR WAR
ASSUMING SERIOUS PROPORTIONS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, May 23. (Received May 23,"at 11.55 p.m.) The Chicago labour war is assuming grave proportions. Two men, who were believed to be attempting to bomb a house in process of con§truction by non-union labour, hurled a policeman through a/window, resulting in his death. Three policemen have been killed by the labour forces in a fortnight. The City Court Judge has declared that a state of war exists in Chicago, and the Chief of Police (Mr Fitzmorris) has ordered all policemen to shoot labour gangsters on sight.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
