Two men, who were believed to be attempting to bomb a house in process of con§truction by non-union labour, hurled a policeman through a/window, resulting in his death. Three policemen have been killed by the labour forces in a fortnight. The City Court Judge has declared that a state of war exists in Chicago, and the Chief of Police (Mr Fitzmorris) has ordered all policemen to shoot labour gangsters on sight.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
