The secretary of the Nokomai Hydraulic Sluicing Company reports that the overhauling of No. 2 race has been completed, and that sluicing was resumed on Monday. No. 3 had a full week’s sluicing, but Giving to the bottom deepening away from the ©levator the progress was somewhat slow. WAIHI GOLD MINE. The following information has been cabled to the head office in London of the Wiaihi Gold Mining Company:—"No. 12 level; In the west section of tho Edward lode we have put in tho Trout crosscut at 160 ft south of tho No. 2 shaft aoutli crosscut. Tho full width of fhe reef is 30ft, and fho average value 11s per ton. Tho next 17ft in the Trout crosscut is country rock, and the next Bft a mixture of quartz and country, worth 7a per ton. On tho south section of tho Empire lodo tho value from 700 ft to 745 ft is 16s per ton. On tho Martha lode, cast of tho Bath crosscut, w© have crosscutteil the lode at 200 ft. Measuring from the north wall, the first 20ft is a mixture worth 4e per ton, tho next sft is quartz worth 17s i d per ton, and the next sft is a ‘slidy’ head, dipping north; the next 10ft-a mixture worth Ra 6d per ton. No. 13 level: The northwest crosscut is now in 270 ft. Prom 238 ft to this point is country rock. In. tho southeast crosscut from No. 4 shaft wo have driven cast and west tm the Royal lode. At 230 ft south the value for 20ft cast is 4s' per ton, and for 17ft west 4a 6d per ton. Driving has been suspended.” STATEMENT OP ACCOUNTS. <Pu Umited Phewi Association.) AUCKLAND, April 27. .The attorney at Auckland has been advised that Ih© statement of accounts to be submitted at tho Waihi Gold Mining Company's annual meeting shows;—Brought forward from last year, £14,100; gross profits, 1921, £66,600; special clean-np at refinery,, £IO,OOO; —total, £120,700. The Waihi Company, during the period ended April 15, treated 12,868 ions of ore for 3G990z gold and 11.4840 z of silver. Last year 10,907 tons yielded 29970 z of gold and 31,1340 z of silver.
