A DOMINION APPEAL. £45,000 ASKED FOR CPu Uxtnco Pans Amooutiox.i AUCKLAND, March 28. A public meeting held her© to-night decided to launch a dominion appeal for £45,000, carrying a Government subsidy of 24s in the £, making a total of £200,000 as a Sir Arthur Pearson Memorial Fund to assist the blind throughout Now Zealand. Mr dutha N. Mackenzie, M.P., said that only the income of this sum —between £SOOO and £6ooo—would b© expended. Of this £2500 would be spent in assisting men and women m businesses; £250 on typewriters and Braille machines for those studying; £6OO annually in sending students to England to receive instruction by experts in classes for those entering the professions. The supervision of businesses would absorb from £550 to £7OO.
