WORLD’S PEACE

THE EOUR-POWEE TREATY. STATEMENT BY SIR A. GEDDES. 9 Proas Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, March 19. (Received March 20, at 7.55 p.m.) Speaking at Los Angelos, Sir. Auckland Geddes (British Ambassador) denied that he ever said the Four-Power Treaty averted imminent war in the Pacific. He made a statement that the Conference had for its object as far as possible the removal of war from the world. This meant naturally the Pacific as well as other parts of the globe, but beyond that general statement he did not and could not go in his official capacity.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
