Cable. EXCITEMENT IN FRANCE. COMMUNIST DISTURBANCES TROOPS READY FOR ACTION. LONDON, October 23. (Received Oct. 24, at 7.15 p.m.) The Daily Telegraph’s Paris correspondent says that it has been established that Friday’s bomb was of English manufacture. Fragments are identical with those found after the Embassy explosion. Mr Herrick (of the American Embassy in Paris) received 500 threatening letters and many American Consulates were likewise threatened.

The Central News correspondent states that, anticipating Communist disturbances, 10,000 troops are prepared for immediate action. Tire day passed quietly, but at Marseilles the Communists bombed the police, who arrested 20 persons.—A. and N.Z. Cable.

[A Paris Press Association cable message, published on Friday, stated that a box of perfume addressed to Mr Myron Herrick, of tho American Embassy, was delivered at a. private house and opened by a valet, whereon a violent explosion destroyed the box, tho contents injuring tho valet. Mr Herrick previously received and ignored letters requesting his intervention on behalf of two Italian Communists under trial for murder in America. A later message said that in a conflict between the police and Communists outside a Communist meeting, a bomb was thrown, 12 police and three others being injured. Six arrests were made. The bomb was thrown by a Woman, who was seriously injured.]
