INQUIRY INTO FIRE. AUCKLAND, September 13. An inquiry into the lire on the Cecilia Sudden, off the Great Barrier, was held by the Peruvian Consul to-day. The evidence showed that the fire was accidentally caused by spontaneous combustion of the coal; that the captain and crew, knowing the ’ risk of fire in coal cargoes, took all possible precautions, and did all possible to save the ship when the fire was discovered. A report to this effect will be sent by the Consul to the Peruvian Government. • ,
