ST. LEON’S CIRCUS
For the young a circus never loses its glamour, but for tho old, who grow discriminating with tho years, much depends on the quality of the performance. If a circus is good they enjoy it, but it must be above the average. That is the case with St. Leon’s Circus. This combination claims that for over 80 years it has been striving to attain the best always, and invariably it has improved on what has gone before. With increased popularity have come increased funds, with which the best circus performers in the world have been secured. The compa,ny includes artists from America, England, Spain, and Australia. Twenty new acts are advertised for this performance. The company guarantees that every act is a really - good one. The performers include tho Odessa Brothers, horizontal bar marvels; the Odessa Sisters, aerial acrobats; Professor Morris and his trained sheep and dogs; the Honey Trio, sixth generation of St. Leon acrobats; Roy jst. Leon and his four flying steeds of tho sawdust ring; Millie Golda, who has boon described as “the Venus of wire-walkers’; Conchita, the Indian fire rider; Maudie, tho marvellous mule; Scnorita Delores, the queen of the flying trapeze; and high-class dummies and clowns, including Gus St. Leon, the oldest and greatest talking clown in Australasia. The circus will be situated in Princes street, opposite the Oval. There will be a special matinee on Saturday. Coinage of silver dollars has been resumed by the United States mint after a lapse of seven years, and the work of replacing 279,000,000 standard silver dollars taken from the Treasury during the war to sell to Great Britain has been begun.
