PRINCESS _ THEATRE

A programme of exceptional merit, which last night’s audience appreciated to the full, is at present provided at the Princess Theatre. The “Smart Set Diggers,” who occupied the “boards” for the first half of the performance, kept the audience amused with their entertaining song and patter. Miss Laura Gucritc, a newcomer to Dunedin, was warmly welcomed, and proved that she is an actress of no ordinary ability. She gave several character and humorous songs in a manner which resulted in incessant recalls, and the audience was loth to part with her. Such popular vaudeville artists os Miss Miriam Mahr, Corona, Brull and Hemsley, and Berge and English all contributed to the enjoyment of the evening’s entertainment.
