Burglars are doing good business in Wellington at tho present time, extending theixoperations from business premises to private houses. There is stated to bo a wave of crime prevalent just now. IVithin the past few days a senous case of burglary has been reported from Wadestown, a dwelling liaving been entered in the absence of tho occupant, and over £2OO worth of jewellexy stolen. The . house of a Government employee had been burgled and various articles and sums of money abstracted. Many minor cases of burglary have come under the notice of the police.
