After a vigorous press campaign against the Government’s decision to auction Runnymede Meadows, on which King John and the barons camped prior to the signature of Magna Charta, Sir A. Griffith-Bos-cawen, Minister of Agriculture, replying to a question in the House of Commons, announced that he intended taking action to prevent the sale.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
