GILBERT AND SULLIVAN SEASON. Hio box plans for the J. C. Williamson Gilbert and Sullivan season will be open tor the seven-nights' season at the Bristol Piano Company this morning at 9 o’clock. Commencing at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday next is promised by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., a season of Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera. The repertoire will induce ‘ the Mikado,” "the Yeoman ct the Guard,” ‘‘lolanthe.” “The Gondoliers, ’ "Pinafore.” and “Pirates of Penzance.” The company, which was especially selected for the interpretation of the works of “the Immortal Partners,” will include such notable English comic opera artists as Messrs James Hay, Albert Kavanagh, Frederick Hobbs, and Charles Waleun, together with Messrs Charles Mettam, John Ralston, Jack Kinson, Tom Minoguc, also Misses Cissie Vaughan, Patti Russell, Molly Tyrell, Byrl Walkley, Grace Grotty, Jessie Catfyn, and Thelma Carter. There will bo an augmented orchestra and grand ojaera chorusr The season will commence witn a two-nights’ revival of the evcr-popular opera “The Gondoliers.” The orchestra will bo under the direction of Gustave Slapoffski. The other operas in the Dunedin report dire will be played for one night each. It is managerially announced that owing to other engagements, the season hero can not be extended. The allurement of the Gilbert and Sullivan operas is being patently evinced in the extraordinary interest that is being taken in the coming season of these brilliant and delightful works.
