ROSA ALBA FAREWELL

Miss Rosa Alba, the brilliant Australian soprano, announces her Thursday evening programme. Ihe numbers are very attractive and should satisfy the most critical musical minds. A special feature is the great aria from Fclicieu David’s opera La Perle du Bresil, with tiute obbligato by Mr J. Stewart, who has agreed to support Miss Alba after some considerable period of retirement. The Handehan aria is also of •considerable interest, os it is taken Irom one of Handel’s old operas, and was sung in Australia by Miss Alba for the first time. It will possibly be new to most music lovers here, and being a very charming composition, will enhance the programme. The other aria hua voll poco la (Rossini) is the final programme number, which created a furore Here and elsewhere. In Wanganui the audience rose up and cheered the singer after its performance. Miss Alba desires music lovers to hear her finally on Saturday in another great programme which will include some of Jenny Lind’s favourites. Messrs W. Llemmell and Chas. A. Martin add to the attractions. The box plan is at the Bristol, and 2s fid tickets are on sale at Begg’s daily. Students’ concession tickets arc available on application to telephone 2579.
