OTAGO YACHT AND MOTOR BOAT ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the association waa held on Friday night. Commodore, Hanlon pia'siding; ' and ' there feeing . preeent Messrs C; - W. Sundstium, D. Cameron, D. Wall, B. Nees, A. Welch, and A. Grant. Letters were received from the Auckland Association giving details of the new specification for 14 foot sailing boats and enclosing general plan as adopted in Auckland. —It was resolved to reply, accepting the regulations in the main, but reserving for further consideration the clauses dealing with size of rudder, measurement certificates, camber of keel, and eligibility of boats built prior to 1921. It was decided to recommend that all provincial entrants for the Sanders Cup be required to sail together in the three first races, the winner of each race to qualify for the finals, first boat to secure three wins to hold the cup. It was resolved that the local clubs be asked to guarantee £25 each to provide a fund to meet expenses of trials, etc. Mr E. S. Wilson advised that pressure of business compelled him to tender his resignation a* secretary to the association. Mr D. Cameron kindly offered to undertake the duties, and he was accordingly appointed. It was resolved to express to Mr Wilson the association’s hearty thanks for the time and attention ho had given its affairs. Messrs Walker and Hall wrote advising their intention of presenting a miniature of the Sanders Cup to the owner of each winning boat. The miniature was accordingly presented to Mr W. J. P. M‘Culloch. the owner of the Heather. Correspondence was read from the secretary of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta, , -f t'-p proposed special class for motor boats carrying a prize of £IOO. These boats must be of limited design, the hull length not to exceed 21ft por to be less than 20ft. The outfit must pot exceed £ c OO in value, and the boats must be capab'e of a speed of over 30 knots. The Power Boat Association has offered an additional prize of v.SO for a second race, the approximate date bein' l, January 29 The secretary expressed the hope tb’t entries for these events would be forthcoming from the various centres.
