AIRSHIP WRECKED
A BAD LANDING,

LONDON, January 28. Airship A 34 made a bad landing on the Yorkshire coast, damaging her engines and propellers. She was blown out to sea, where she floated. Destroyers were sent to the rescue.
A later communique, issued by the Air Ministry, states, that airship A 34 returned to her base at a low speed at 10 o’clock the next morning. The members of her crew tfere uninjured.—A. and N.Z. (Received Jan. 30, at 5.5 p.m.) Airship A 34 reached the aerodrome at Howden, but owing to her crippled condition she bumped several times in landing and the crew were compelled to jump several feet to the earth. The airship was moored for the night, as it was impossible to house her. A gale arose and it becaipe impossible to keep her under control. The envelope collapsed and the ship sank to the ground a mass of wreckage.—A. and N.Z. Gable.
