A good muster greeted N.G. Aitkenliead at the meeting of tlie Loyal Alexandra Lodgo, Port ItLolynerux, on October 13. There were two proposals for membership. Next lodge night Pride- of K&itan gala, will pay an official visit. After the transaction of business a pleasant social evening was spent. On Saturday, October 9, the lodge sent a football team to Owaka to play the local lodge of the 1.0.0. F. Tliey returned with the eoalpa of their opponents. The meeting of Loyal Dunedin on the 14th inst. was well attended. Three new members were initiated and two others proposed for membership. P.G. Bro. P. W. Stubb, president of the U.F.S. Council, was present, and outlined tho arrangements agreed to with tho representatives of tho 8.11.A- in regard to medical attendance. Bro. J. Smeaton was appointed to tho office of permanent sccre-| tary, and has the best wishes of members. The lodgo membership has now reached tho 500 mark. P.G. Bro. W. N. Sheppard having now secured over 100 new membere in the time allowed, it wns resolved to apply to the D.E. for tho jewel granted on suck occasions.
Loyal 0-utra.m held their usual meeting on Monday evening, N.G. Bro. Barclay presiding over a fair attendance. A splendid reception was accorded to P.G. Bro. W. G. Neill, who is visitin : ,- Outrarn after a lapse of years. Bro. Neill thanked the lodge, and expressed his gratification at Tjcing once more within tho walls of hie own lodge room. It was decided to take immediate steps re a war memorial tablet to soldier brethren. N.G. Bro. Toombs presided over tho meeting of Loyal Valley on Mbnday evening, tie customary faithful few being in attendance. Three now membere were admitted, and one proposal for membership wae received. The principal item of correspondence- was a notification from the U.F.S. Council re arrangements for medical attendance. A motion "to thank tho council for their -untiring efforts and the result achieved woe carried bv ac~ oltnnatkm. The Pro. G.M., on behalf o*f the executive, thanked the lodge for e. suggestion ably convoyed by P.G. Bro. "Wells at o. recent executive meeting.
Taieri juveniles continue to forge ahead at then: meeting on Monday night. Three moro new members wore admitted. After the transaction of business tho lads amused thornselves with various games, interspersed with nrueical itremn,_ there being no lack of talent. Loyal Mosgiol's combination, is keeping thorn well to tho fore. Their meeting on Tuesday evening was well attended. l"hirtvfivo new members since July 1 is a record to' be proud of. Seven more were, proposed at this meeting. The business concluded a very enjoyable evening wne srxmt in harmony The usual mooting of Loyal Centenary Lodge was held on Tuesday evening. N.G Bro. Froudo presided over a good attendance of members a.nd visitors. A hoarty vote of 1 hanks was accordtd to P.G. Bro. S. Snritn for his services as permanent secretary of the lodge during a very trying period. The way in which this brcthor stick to the lodgo in its dnrk (scys reflected great credit upon himself, and was most beneficial to the lodgo. A pleasant evening was spent in progressive euchre, P.G. Bio. C. West proving tho winner.
