BASEBALL FRAUD
CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH SOLD.
SENSATIONAL REVELATIONS,
Presa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, September 28. (Received Sept. 29, at 11.10 p.m.) . Eight members of the Chicago White Sox baseball players team have been indicted by the Grand Jury. The case promises sensational revelations. Last year the Cincinnati team won the world's championship, -whereupon millions o! dollars in the shape of bets changed hands. When the case came before the court Eddie Cicotte, the star pitcher, confessed that he and seven other players allowed Cincinnati to win. Evidence is in possession of the authorities showing that the incriminated players were promised £20,000 to lose, but received less than £2000, the balance allegedly going to a syndicate of gamblers, who "doublecrossed" the players.—Renter.
