RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION.

The regular fortnightly meeting of ill© executive committee of the Returned Soldiers' Association, hold last night, was presided over by Mx "W. Eleven new members, including one nurse, were received. Three inward and four outward transfers were approved. Mr Wood reported as to the position of men getting employment under the Repatriation Department, and 6tated that there were no temporary men on the books of the department at the present time.—The report was was discussed at length. They proposed not to call for members until the booklet which would be out in a couple of days was ready. He believed this was the biggest of these societies, and that it offered a better discount and a larger range of firms than any similar society here. They had been up against organised opposition, particularly from the Employers' Association, which went the length of circularising all it ß members, warning them against having anything to do with the proposal.
