UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM ACUTE
PLANS FOR RELIEF WORK.
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CONDON, September 27. In consequence of the trade slump and the uncertainty of tho coal position the unemployment problem is becoming more acuta. It is estimated are idle in London. The unemployed in Bir- J roingham and Manchester are increasing at the rate of over 10CO weekly. The Government has decided to hasten plans ior relief work.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
