LONDON, September 27. A Polish communique claims that they made counterattacks against the Bolshevists and Lithuanians "on September 24 and 25, and occupied Kopoiova and Sejey, capturing 1000 prisoners, three batteries, and 26 machine guns. The Poles also broke the enemy's attack on Buzostolico, causing thorn' to retreat north-eastwards. —A. and N.Z. Cable.

LONDON, September 27. It is reported from Warsaw that the Poles have ca.ptured Grodno, taking many prisoners, _ aud much war material. GTodno will, it is understood, be under the protection of the League of Nations. It is pointed out that only another month's is possible before tho winter stops operations. A new move is said to bo in preparation for an offensive against the R-ed army now concentrated tho Minsk-Lida sector, as unless their destruction is achieved before the winter these forces will be used to crush General Wrangel, leaving tlio Bolshevists free to attempt to overrun Poland in tho spring. —Reuter.
