The board with compoCltors' numbers pa is placed at the side of ihe stage, where half of the people in the circle cannot obtain, a view of it. Could it not be placed ut tho back of. the stags, by the entrance door. This would l>3 in full view of everyone, also tho gentleman in charge would" not have to walk across the &tago tor every new numJbsr, as is the case now. Then, ia it not possible to tack down the piece of carpet just outsido the stage entrance door, and so avoid' tho door from persistently ca.teh.ing , on the carpet? It would be- better for competitors and etago manager if that small item was seen to In. the day time, when the lighting- is limiicd the competitors, almost without exception' come too far forward, and get almost over the foMhghts, the consequence being the faces of the' performers are ia shadow, the footlight only shining under tho cliin.—l am ', etc., ■ ViaiToa.
