1 COMMITTEES' REPORTS.
The monthly report of the Oame Committee of the Otago- Acclimatisation Society states that the Department of Internal Affairs has written advising that the society's request jfor parmassion to collect swans' eggs will receive consideration. A letter was received from Mr D. S. M*Kenzie, Park Hill, Heriot, advising that he had liberated! * the three dear from the gardens above Hukarero Station, next to the Parasol Creak. The secretary of the Waitaki Society wrote enclosing a letter fToin its solicitors regarding its recent case against a man for killing deer without a lioense. The committee recommended that a reply be sent. pointing out the regulations of the Animals Protection Act. Replies from Messrs T. K. Sidey, E. .Kellett, W. Downie Stewart, and J. M. Dickeon (M.P.'s) had been received to tho society's . letters asking for their assistance in getting tie Amimals Protection Act amended this session. The Angling Committee's report states: The curator recommends that 2uO Blagdon two-year-olds be put into the Maori Hill Reservoir and 50 Blagdon into tho Mornington Reservoir; also that a circular be sent to all acclimatisation societies next February or March asking for orders for ova for the coming season. An order isom the' Deipajtment of Internal Affairs for . 250,000 eyed rainbow trout ova has been received; also a telegram from the Butler Acclimatisation Society asking if 50,000 brown trout ova could be supplied. An affirmative reply had b:«n sent. The committee recommenda that Mr Gray, Milton, be allowed £5 towards the expense of appointing a, man to pxovens poaching in the Tokomairiro Stream, about the opening of the season, the person appointed also to receive half of any fines for convictions obtained.
