SHEEP DOG TRIALS

The ninth meeting lor sheep dog trials took plaoe at> Walmate last week under very satisfaotory conditions. Splendid arrangements had been made in preparation for putting the large number of dogs through the, various teete, which consieted of three classes. The courses on this occasion provided praotical tests, "the long pull" especiiilly being 6uch that the clement of lnck was practically eliminated. Excellent sheep wore again provided from Centrewood, and the secretary had everything well in hand. The women of the local Presbyterian Ohurch Guild iilso won apprecintion by their efforte at the refreshment tent. The decisions of the judge (Mr. A. Elliot) were well reoeived, and the various other posts were capably filled. Results: — C'liiss 1. Haad, pull, and yard. About quarter of a mile.—Mr P. Kane's Rock 1, Mr E.
