(Received May 20, at 1.25 a.m.) It is officially announced that tho Treasury has spent £452,329 since June last on grants to voluntary societies for the relief of famine in tho stricken areas of Europe in connection with the scheme by when the Treasury pays pound for pound on money voluntarily raised.—A. and N.Z.
