POLES REPULSE BOLSHEVISTS.

It is officially reported that the Ukrainians have occupied Odessa. Warsaw reports that on May 10 the Bolshevists recroseed the Dnieper.. Reinforced by. fresh troops from both north and south, they violently attacked the Polish positiondefending the- approaches to Kietf. The Poles maintained their positions, capturing two battalions. Enemy aeroplanes bombarded Kieff.—A. and N.Z. Cable.

DOCKERS REFUSE TO LOAD STEAMER.

LONDON, May 12. (Received May 14, at 0.5 a.m.) Thames dockers refused to com'pleto the loading of aeroplanes, guns, and ammunition on the steamer Polly George when it was learned that they • were destined for Poland for use against Russia. The ownero agreed to discharge the munitions and accept only general cargo, and tho dockers then resumed.—A. and N.Z. Cable.

THE POLISH OFFENSIVE.

SUCCESS DUE TO INFANTRY.

WARSAW, Ma- 13. (Received May 14. at 0.5 a.m.) The first, phase of the Polish offensive has ended. Tho success was due to tho extraordinary rapidity of the infantry inarch, which amounted to 62 miles in 30 hours, and resulted in encircling a big Bolshevist forco, including a Chinese brigade, which fought bravely until almost exterminated.—A. and N.Z.
