EMPIRE AND KING EDWARD THEATRES.
At the head of the change at the Empier Theatre, ia "Heartsease, a pky which eunibinea iove, xouxmmm, iuml diuiuutie iueddent, and ia which Toin Moore fills tho leading part with, great ability. hie certainly nmkas the character iw aesames moet attractive. He is seen as a. nruaical oomposor who has the production of his genius stolen from him, and quite unexpectedly listens to his own composition, in a great opera houae into which ho has strolled. Incidentally he meets with a girl—"the ffh-1" —who is of great help to him and a great consolation in hia time of disappointment and -trouble. Nothing appals him, though he becomes disheartened. He is one of the Itind of men seen on picture screens, ana read of in bookii, out rarely if eve"r met with in real life, and regards difficulties as things to bo overcome, and trampled under loot. Tho giri ho moats is very winsome, and the part is admirably played. The concert party who aro appearing at this theatre have won their way to put>lio lavour without duiieiuty. Mr Smythio's songs were "The D'nunmajor," "Song of the Sword," "Mandalay," "Stoneoraoker John," "Off to Philadelphia," "Myself When Young," and "Hie Lute Player"; Miss Bathie Stuart's "Sw>h a Lil' Fellow, "In Fifteen Parte," and "Ou La La Oui Oui"; and Miss Green's Mascagni's "Ave Maria," and "Carissima." Tho Empire Thsatro was open in tho afternoon and evening, and on both occasions the attendances were very large. "Heartsease" was also shown at Kjng Edward Theatre afternoon and evening, and .proved a powerful attraction.
