FIRE BRIGADES
DEMONSTRATION AT MASITAITON. (Pjsb United Press Association.) MASTERON, April 4. The first day of the United District Fire Brigade Association's demonstration at .Vlastcrton was held on Saturday. Encouraged by the glorious weather, the attendance was good, and keen interest was evinced in trie various results. Brigadesmen wero present from all parts of the North Island, 29 teams being entered in the various competitions. A mayoral reception was .tendered to the delegates at the conference in the morning. Following are the demonstration results:—One-man ladder: Mastorton B, 1; Mastorton A, 2; Mastorton C, 3. Time, 7min 2-ssec. Three-men event,: Napier 1 A, 1; Dannevirke A, 2; Spit (Napier), 3. Time, 45 2-ssec. Five-men hose, reel, and laddor: Masterkm, 1; Napier, 2; Hastings, 3 Time, 69sec.
