GENERAL STRIKE FEARED. STRIKERS' DEMANDS. Proas Association— By Telegraph—Copyright. COPENHAGEN, April 1. (Received April 4, at 5.5 p.m.) Kx-Premier Ziihlo has promised to support his successor and discourage t<he general strike due for the 6th inst. A Sailors' and Firemen's Union ha« already stopped work, and coastal traffic is at a standstill. The printers and technical staffs of several newspapers have also itrnck. The general strike will not atlee'., tho waterworks, hospitals, police, live brigade, or co-operative concerns. The democratic newspapers state that the strikers' demands include- improved laoour conditions, the speedy convocation of Parliament, and the release of syndicalist». The King, replying to a deputation of co-operativo trade unions, said ho and his Ministers were cndeav.ouring to solve the situation. Conferences were continuing. Ho would eventually invite the co-nperation of representatives o\ the workers. COPENHAGEN, April 2.
