Cable. RISE IN THE RHINE. AMERONGEN CASTLE THREATENED. EX-KAISER CARRIES WOOD. AMSTERDAM, January 5. (Received Jan. 5, at 10.40 p.m.) The rising of the Rhine is threatening Amerongen Castle. The ex-Kaiser is busily engaged in carrying wood to the menaced parts of the castle walls. The floods are the highest for 40 years. The water destroyed 150,000,000 bricks in the brickyards of the district.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
