EMPIRE THEATRE

Liberal patronage was bestowed upon- the Empire Theatre by tho publio yesterday afternoon and evening, tho special attraction being the new programme presented. The chief film is that entitled "A Man and His Money," featuring Tom Moore. In this case it was the matter of the fool realising what his money was leading 1 him to. Through tho instrumentality of a young lady friend, ho foreswore his money, and went,to work. He commenced as a caretaker of a number of lapdogs, but he had a speoial reason for undertaking this work as it kept him near his sweetheart. There ■was a rival, and in order to keep this man away, he was prepared., to perform the menial work attached to such an office. "A Man and His Money" points the adage that a fool and his money are easily parted, and in addition it demonstrated that :t takes a wise man to recognise that lie is a fool, and that while money may make a man a fool, the so-called fool seldom makes money. Tom Moore is the fool in this _ instance, and he fits the role to -perfection, and some of his work in his part is screamingly funny Miss Seena Owen is his sweetheart, and takes her part in .the play in a most realistic fashion. It is a most entertaining production, and has to be seen to bo appreciated. The supports include a Topical Gazette and a number of very entertaining subjects. The Empire orchestra, comprising some eight instruments, adds considerably to the enjoyment of tho entertainment provided.
