The third concert of- the Philharmonio Society's fifteenth season will ba given in Ilis Majesty's Theatre on Tuesday. It. will tako the form of a victory concert,, as it is tho first performance by the society sinco peace was signed. The compositions will bo drawn from the nations of tho Big Four, and will therefore be eor.fincvl to British! Frcnch. Italian, and American composers! Sullivan's " In Momoriam " (for the fallen)! Perev Grainger's British Folk Music,' Verdi's overture to "La Forza del T>estino." and a hip 'cello concerto by Miss Vera Mitchell, R.A.M., of Christchurch, who has just recently returned to tho dominion after a five years' course of sutdy at tho Royal Academy in London, are among tho attractions. Mr W. Harrison 13 tho vocalist, and will sing, among other numbers. " The Flower Song-," from " Oarmen." Tho American " Battle Hymn " will bring: tho programme to a close. As is well known, the words are by Mrs Howes, and give the tune to "John Brown's Body' Lha a Moiild'rin<r in tho Grave," a dignity worthy of th? nation. The box plan w now open at tho Bristol, where a limited number of tickets are on sale. No booking fee is charged, and there is no tax payable. J
