ESTABLISHING PASSENGER SERVICES. BRITISH ARRANGEMENTS. Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, August 24. The Handley-Page Company is opening a daily passenger service between London and Pans on Monday. Each machine will carry 10 passengers, and the fare will be 15 guineas. The Aires aeroplanes are establishing a daily goods service. Freight rates will be 7s 6d per lb to Paris. Britain and America are requesting permission from Spain to establish aeipplane landing grounds, alao an observatory at Teneriffe (Canary Islands).—A. and N Z Cable. MISSING AEROPLANE FOUND. THE CREW SAFE. _ LONDON, Angust 24. The Goliath machine reported missing on August 16 has been found near Dakar (West Africa) with a broken propeller The crew are safe—A. and N.Z. Cable. TRANSPACIFIC FLIGHT. TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR PRIZE OFFERED. VANCOUVER, August 22. Mr Thomas Ince has offered a prize of l(),000dol for a Transpacific aeroplane flight from California to either Australia Japan, China, or the Philippines, to be completed within 12 days. A prize of 2000dol gees to the first machine to reach Hawaii.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
PRESIDENT AND PRINCE. GREETINGS EXCHANGED BY AEROPLANE. NEW YORK, August 2*. (Received Aug. 25, at 7.35 p.m.) The Prince of Wales and President Wilson exchanged letters by an airplane competing in the New York-Toronto race. Mr Wilson's letters invite the Prince to visit the United States. The Prince of Wales, in his letter, extends greetings to Americans.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
