LONDON, August 23. In reference to Mr Lloyd George's statement in Parliament on the subject of the trado policy, the Board of Trade announces that legislation will be introduced in the autumn to protect goods manufactured in Britain and Ireland against dumping. This will be done by taking power to prevent the sales in this country of similar goods beneath their ■price in the country of origin, and will enable the Board of Trade to check any flood of imports that might arise from a collapse in the rate of exchange with other countries.—A. and N.Z. BRITISH PROFITEERING BILL. ADMINISTRATION ARRANGEMENTS. LONDON, August 24. The Board of Trade announces that the Profiteering Act will be administered by, firstly, a central committee representing the Government, the chambeis of commerce, the employers, the employees, the trade unions, and the co-operative societies, which will investigate the costs and profits of manufacturers and wholesale merchants; secondly, a local committee appointed by the municipal councils to investigate specific complaints against retailers; thirdly, an appeal tribunal in each county appointed by the Board of Trade to hear appeals from the local com mittee's decisions.—A. and N.Z.
