u. %° Mctro drama, with May Allison in the title role, is "The Return of Mary," winch was shown for the first time at the Uotagon Theatre last night. There was a largo attendance. The picture shows how Mary Denby, the three-year-old" daughter of a, railroad president, is kidnapped. Fourteen years later a wreck occurs on the railway, and Graham (the engineer) is to be convicted of manslaughter. ' Graham tries to pass off his own daughter us tho missing girl, and, his attempt beinjj temporarily successful, influence is brought to bear which secures his release from prison. Later, however, through a combination of circumstances.. Graham is forced to admit the truth—that since tho jirl had been robbed i a ,* atllor through his arrest, he had plotted to triok Denby into giving- her a home while he was in prison. Mrs Denby is upset at losing Mary, whom she has grown to love, and Denby, who has never realised just how much Mary means to him, is willing to pay any price to keep her in his family. His son Jack has a solution. He loves Mary, and wants to marry her. Mary, it appears, loves him, too. So she becomes Mrs John Denby. and the families are united. Denby reinstates Graham with the Great Eastero, and happiness roigns hupreme. Tho supports include: 'Thirty a Week," the Gazette, and a fine scenic film. The programme will be repeated to-day.
