fbe regular meeting of the Hospital and Charitable- Aid Board was held yesterday afternoon; present-Messrs W. E: g. Knight (chairman), Talboys, Templeton, Begg, QuQlch, F. G. Gumming, Driver, Mesdanra Ferguson, Gordon, M'Eorlane, and Jackson The Minister of Publio Health wrote expressing thanks for. the assistance rendered during the recent epidemic.—Recerved. He also wrote consenting to the establishment of a jaw hospital for soldiers. —Received.
Donations totalling £9 were received from Messrs R. Hamilton, W. Marshall, and D A. Smith (Momona) towards the flood funds! —Koceaved.
The Red Cros, branch of the St. John Ambulance Association wrote as to the appointment of a visiting committee to the so d,ers' ward m the HospitaL-Approved. The Town Clerk Dunedin, wrote as to fencing the boundary o f the Chfldren's Home property, and as to the tTto-rTrt cost.—Finance Commit-
Mr W. Bowie wrote placing under offer for sale a property near Portobello at £3500 .Referred to the Finance Committee to ral port.
Tho secretary of the hon. mediral staff wrote advising that Dγ Ritchie had been appointed chairman, and Dr Newlands secretary, and asking tliat Dγ Ferguson be reappointed a co-optative member of the B.oipital CommitW.—Approved. The bon. medical staff wrote asking that senior rank be granted to Drs Hall, Nowlands, Allen, and Ritchie.—Approved. Dr Bowie was given the title of physician to out-patients.
Mr D. Booth wrote residing his position a> teacher of massage at the DonCC m'L S 0 * 1001 ; - Massage Committee to report. Ihe Wellington Board wrote inviting coeporation in urging tho authorities to dedara Australian ports as infected porte. Tho Chairman stated, in connection with the patter, that convenience should not bo co.->aidered where thousands and thousands of lives were at state,—lt was resolved to co-operate.
Messrs Mason wad Wales wrote iihat the p/selters at Wakari \yould be completed on tJ» 28th inst.—Rojeived.
Accounts for maintenance at the Hospital amounting to 5445 were remitted.
The sum of £4 # 7s was rec. ived from the Maoris at MoeraJd, with thanks. Dr Emily Nees wrote relinquishing her position as visiting medical officer to the Dunedin Hospital.—Received.
Mr Tnlboys moved the adoption of the Benevolent Committee's report, and intimated that he would again offer his sorto the ratepayers.—Report adopted. Tho reports of the Sanatorium, Hospital, nod Finance Committees were adopted.
