ilie Minister said that the authorities had had a difficulty in dealing with these mon, but he did not think the idea of securing the fsland was possible. In any caso, the whole thing would bo over in.the course of not many months. He hoped the troops would all be back in nine months, and the cases coming back now wero comparatively few. Most of those now in JFeatherston were in the convalescent stage, and the place ought to be cleared altogether in the course of a year Ho appealed to the people of Wairarapa to put-up with tho arrangement.
